Event Details
We are pleased to invite you to a workshop to develop a Request for Information on financing strategies for plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), hosted by the Governor’s Office, State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, and the California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative, on February 1, 2013.
This workshop will provide a "roll up your sleeves" opportunity to align strategies and explore emerging financing ideas to build the PEV market. A RFI focused on innovative financing structures could help California tackle critical cost and infrastructure hurdles, outline and prioritize investment opportunities, and advance the Governor's goals.
The Governor's Office is offering invited parties the chance to submit abstracts, addressing the big picture question: How do we get 1.5 million ZEVs on California roadways by 2025? Six speakers will be chosen for the workshop, based upon submitted abstracts.
Interested participants are encouraged to submit an abstract to abstracts@gov.ca.gov by January 10, 2013. Selected speakers will be notified by January 21,2013.
Additional details about the workshop, including the agenda, will be made available closer to the date. Topics of discussion will include:
- An assessment of current PEV finance options
- Consideration of both initial purchase cost and total (lifecycle) cost of ownership
- Reducing the costs of battery and electric vehicle drive components
- Financing strategies that unlock the full, long-term value of PEVs
- Availability of charging stations and other PEV infrastructure
- Retrofitting conventional vehicles
Please RSVP by Monday, January 14, 2013 to attend, as space is limited.
We hope you can join us at the workshop.
